There are over 200 miles of trails where you can enjoy short and easy trips or long and challenging adventures through remote backcountry areas.
There is no better way to get up close to the beautiful Sedona country.  We have hiked many of the trails in Sedona and have printed directions and maps for most of them for you.

Here are some of our favorites:

Courthouse-Butte-TH

Courthouse Butte Loop

This is a wonderful trail that is within walking distance of Adobe Village Graham Inn. The trail takes you up close to both Courthouse Butte and Bell Rock, two of Sedona’s prime landmarks. From here you also have distant views of the Chapel of the Holy Cross, Rabbit Ears, and Cathedral Rock. Continue reading

Weir Trail

This is a great trail to take with beautiful scenery and the reward of a cool swim at the end.
The Wier Trail follows Wet Beaver Creek along the Bell trail before going into an attractive area where you get close to red rock buttes before dropping to creek level at the gauging station. Continue reading

West Fork Trail in Sedona Arizona

West Fork Oak Creek

West Fork is the most popular trail in the Coconino National Forest. The trail is an easy stroll beside a stream that ripples along the canyon floor that is framed by lush plant life and tremendously high colorful canyon walls. Doe Mountain Hike in Sedona Arizona

Doe Mountain Trail

Doe Mountain is an easy drive from our bed and breakfast in Sedona. Doe Mountain has a classic mesa shape and provides hikers with a great platform from which enjoy the panoramic view. From the top, you can see a number of the Sedona Red Rocks Country’s more prominent landmarks. You’ll see Bear, Maroon and Wilson mountains, Loy, Boynton and Secret canyons, Chimney Rock, and the Cockscomb to name a few. Sedona is visible to the east and off to the south, Munds Mountain and Sycamore Pass mark the location of Sycamore Canyon and the Verde Valley. Continue reading

Devil’s Bridge Trail

Devil’s Bridge is the largest natural sandstone arch in the Sedona area. This trail is a short drive from our Sedona bed and breakfast but you will need a high clearance four wheel drive vehicle to get to the trailhead. From a trailhead elevation of 4,600 feet, there’s a mere 400 foot climb in altitude during this moderately difficult, 1.8 mile roundtrip trek. Continue reading

Secret Canyon/David Miller/Bear Sign/Dry Creek Trails Loop

This Sedona hike is a scenic red rock country loop which involves the use of four trails and is an easy drive from our bed and breakfast. The trail starts at the signed trailhead for the Secret Canyon Trail west of the parking area. This trail is goes through beautiful backcountry with impressive red rocks. The Brins Mesa trail begins right at the edge of the town of Sedona and is an easy drive from our bed and breakfast. Instead of keeping you tucked away in a deep canyon or clinging to the side of a steep slope as do a lot of other trails in this area, it leads you right out into the open where you can enjoy unobstructed views of the spectacular red rock formations for which the Sedona area and Oak Creek Canyon are famous. The hike up the Parsons Trail is a pleasant stroll along a cool, clear desert stream set in a magnificent red rock canyon. The trail leads through the lower reaches of this wilderness through a riparian area rich in plant and animal life. Colorful cliffs that are a unique mix of dark columnar basalt, red sandstone, and buff colored limestone enclose the lush green of the oasis. This easy to hike trail in Sedona leads up a desert wilderness canyon offering excellent views not only at trail’s end, but all along the way as well. Natural rock sculptures carved by flash floods and spring runoff that seasonally course down this normally dry streambed provide scenic settings for lunch stops along the way. Chimney Rock Loop

Chimney Rock is a prominent landmark in Sedona and is an easy drive from our bed and breakfast. This trail is a loop hike that takes you to the top of the ridge from which the spire rises for nice views. If you hike Chimney Rock in a counterclockwise direction the steep trail on the northeast side is easier to hike uphill than downhill. This trail intersects with the Andante, Lizard Head and Lower Chimney Trails if you would like to add some distance to this short hike. Little Horse Trail

This is an easy hike on relatively flat ground that ends up at Chicken Point, a well known landmark. Little Horse Trail begins as part of the Bell Rock Pathway. It follows this wide trail southward for 1/4 mile. Here, at a signed fork you follow an old jeep road branching to the left. Continue reading

The Bell Rock Pathway is within walking distance of our inn. It is a 3½ mile trail linking the Village of Oak Creek and Sedona. Along this pathway you’ll enjoy fantastic views of Bell Rock, Courthouse Butte, and other landmarks. Most of the pathway has a wide, hard surface. Bell Rock is considered on of the strongest vortexes in Sedona. Continue reading
